Kinectimals Impressions...I would like to hear them.

I picked up Kinectimals for Christmas for my 7 and 3 year old children.  Any fun to be had for Dad?  Will my kids find it fun? I picked up the LE with the blue tiger.  Is there a particlarly rare one?  I am curious.

While it's probably not going to be something you'd want to play alone, it has a lot of fun little challenges that you'll likely get far more out of playing with your children. It's not the deepest experience, but it's extremely cute and it's a lot of fun just watching young children playing the game and interacting with the cubs. I think you're in for a treat and so are your children. smile

I picked this up for my daughter (6) and ended up adopting a black panther of my own. The game is surprisingly alot of fun and it does have some pretty good depth to it. As far as I know there were only 2 different plush toys that came with the limited edition, the Maltese (blue tiger) thats the one I got for my daughter and some kind of Cheetah I think.

I picked this game up for my family. I have a 5 year old and he is constantly asking when he can play it again and if he can stay home from school so he can play with his Maltese Tiger. There is a website which can give you all of the pictures to use for the Scanning Stone. http://www.xbox360achievements.org/foru … p?t=273482
Just use each picture at the scanning stone and it will unlock a ton of extra stuff for you and your children's cats!!

Re: Kinectimals Impressions...I would like to hear them.

I wrote the below message on another message board shortly after getting Kinect. Reading it again, it's pretty accurate.

Possibly the best looking of the games. I was shocked at just how attached I grew to my cat. There are a number of felines to choose, from tigers to panthers to cheetahs. Whats good is that they remain as cubs, and are absolutely adorable. They are completely customisable. The aim of the game is to keep you pet happy, teach him tricks. And in teaching him tricks you unlock areas of the island, which open up new tricks and mini-games. I was surprised at how attractive the game world is - there is seriously a lot on offer. This is one of the games with legs, you'll be playing it for quite a while, and not in short bursts either. It'd be good to be able to jump online, mate the different species (maybe do something like Viva Pinata?), but the game is good looking, plays well, and has a lot to offer. I'd give it a 8/10.

The game is suprisingly lengthy. While the tasks are a little repetitive, the gameworld and graphics will win you over. And young children will get a kick out of the cute cats. They will be pretty pleased with the present, and I'm sure you'll likely enjoy playing with your own Kinectimal on ocassion.

Update:  My son loved it!  I think it hits a sweet spot for his level of gaming ability plus the animals are cute!

I have since completed the game and wrote a review for it, which can be found here if interested:
